Online counselling for adults across the UK
Counselling that meets you where you are
You don’t need a diagnosis, a label or a crisis to come to counselling.
Perhaps you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed. Maybe work has become exhausting, your relationship is struggling, or you’ve reached a point in your life where you’re questioning what you actually want.
Or perhaps there isn’t one obvious problem.
You simply know that something doesn’t feel right anymore.
Counselling offers a confidential space where you don’t have to perform, cope or have everything figured out before you arrive.
Ready to take the next step?
What I can help with
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, with particular experience and interest in:
Anxiety & overthinking
Persistent worry, difficulty switching off, panic, health anxiety or constantly anticipating what might go wrong.
Burnout & work-related stress
Feeling exhausted, overwhelmed or increasingly disconnected from your work. This can also include career uncertainty, redundancy and questioning your relationship with achievement or success.
Relationships
Relationship difficulties, emotional distance, separation, trust, communication and patterns that seem to repeat despite your best efforts to change them.
Confidence, perfectionism & self-criticism
Feeling that you’re never quite good enough, putting enormous pressure on yourself or depending heavily on achievement and other people’s approval for your sense of worth.
Identity & life transitions
Periods when you find yourself questioning who you are, what matters to you or where your life is heading. This can happen around career changes, relationships, midlife or other significant transitions.
Addiction & compulsive behaviours
Exploring behaviours that may have developed as ways of coping, escaping or managing difficult emotions, including the shame and self-criticism that can accompany them.
You don’t need to decide which category you belong in. These experiences frequently overlap, and part of our work can be understanding how they fit together for you.
How I work
My therapeutic foundation is person-centred, which means I don’t work from a predetermined programme or assume that I know what your life should look like.
Instead, we begin with your experience.
Together, we might explore what you’re feeling now, patterns that keep repeating, earlier experiences that continue to influence you, or the beliefs you’ve developed about yourself and other people.
I’m also interested in the different parts of ourselves that can sometimes pull us in opposite directions.
For example, one part of you may desperately want something to change while another is frightened of what that change might mean. You might have a part that feels exhausted and wants to stop while another insists you should keep pushing.
Becoming curious about these internal conflicts — rather than judging ourselves for having them — can help us understand what they may be trying to communicate or protect.
Self-compassion can also form part of our work, particularly if you’re someone who finds it much easier to extend understanding to other people than to yourself.
Where useful, I may draw on other therapeutic ideas or mindfulness-based approaches. The important thing is that therapy responds to you, rather than trying to make you fit a particular model.
What sessions are like
Counselling doesn’t require you to arrive each week with a topic prepared.
Sometimes you’ll know exactly what you want to talk about. Other times we might begin with whatever feels most present and see where the conversation takes us.
You can expect:
◦ a confidential, non-judgemental space
◦ time to explore things at your own pace
◦ careful listening and genuine engagement
◦ curiosity about thoughts, feelings and patterns
◦ gentle challenge where it may be useful
◦ practical strategies or grounding techniques where appropriate.
I won’t tell you what decisions you should make or try to “fix” you.
My role is to help you understand yourself and your experience more fully, so that you have greater freedom to decide what comes next.
Online sessions
Sessions take place online by secure video call and are available to adults throughout the UK.
You’ll need a reliable internet connection and somewhere reasonably private where you feel comfortable speaking openly.
Online counselling can make fitting therapy around work and other commitments considerably easier, while allowing us to develop the same consistent therapeutic relationship each week.
Phone sessions can also be arranged where appropriate if video isn’t practical or accessible.
Frequency & Availability
FMost clients begin with weekly sessions, as regularity can help us build momentum and establish the therapeutic relationship.
Fortnightly sessions may also be possible depending on your circumstances and what we’re working on.
I currently offer:
Daytime appointments
Monday to Friday · 11am, 1pm & 3pm
Evening appointments
Monday to Thursday · 6pm & 7:30pm
Sessions are subject to current availability.
Fees
£50 per 50-minute counselling session
Sessions are pay-as-you-go, with no requirement to commit to a predetermined number of appointments.
I also offer a limited number of reduced-fee places for counselling students and trainees. Please ask about availability if this applies to you.
Start with a free introductory call
If you’re considering counselling but aren’t sure whether I’m the right therapist for you, we can start with a free 15-minute introductory call.
This isn’t a counselling session or an assessment.
It’s simply an opportunity to:
• tell me briefly what’s bringing you to counselling;
• ask questions about how I work;
• discuss practicalities and availability;
• get a sense of whether you feel comfortable talking with me.
There’s no obligation to book a counselling session afterwards.
Your first counselling session
If you decide you’d like to work together, our first full session gives us more time to explore what’s brought you to counselling.
You don’t need to prepare anything beforehand.
We’ll begin wherever feels most useful and talk about what you might want from counselling. I’ll also explain anything you need to know about confidentiality, boundaries and how we’ll work together.
The first session is also an opportunity for you to continue deciding whether I’m the right counsellor for you.
There is no obligation to commit to a particular number of sessions.
