About Me

Person-Centered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor & Meditation Teacher

A Fellow Traveller on the Journey

Life can be an incredible adventure, but it can also throw some serious curveballs. Like many of us, I spent years navigating the pressures of modern life and a demanding career. Trying to cope with the constant stress, I found myself turning to unhealthy habits and eventually hitting a point of complete burnout.

It was a humbling experience, but it also became a turning point. For the first time, I let go of the idea that I had to go it alone. I reached out for help, and the therapy I received from a counsellor was truly life-changing. It opened my eyes to the power of self-reflection and helped me identify limiting beliefs and negative patterns that were holding me back. Through this process, I discovered a new depth to myself and a desire to empower others in the same way.

This journey led me to retrain as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I qualified in April 2024 with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am now NCPS Accredited and BACP Registered. Prior to that, I gained valuable experience working for two years as a counsellor at the Herefordshire branch of Mind, a UK mental health charity. This experience continues alongside my private practice, allowing me to stay connected to the wider mental health community.

Counselling wasn’t the only path I explored on my journey to healing. In my mid-twenties, I discovered Transcendental Meditation (TM) and its profound impact on managing stress and fostering inner peace. This experience inspired me to train with the British School of Meditation, achieving a Meditation Teacher diploma. Now, I can share the benefits of these ancient techniques alongside modern counselling to provide a holistic approach to therapy.

I’m deeply committed to ongoing professional development, recently attending trainings on delivering substance use interventions, trauma-informed practice, and suicide prevention. These areas resonate with me personally, as I have lived experience with 12-Step recovery groups for alcohol and substance addictions. This experience extends to supporting others as a sponsor, which allows me to offer a unique perspective informed by both personal growth and professional training.

I’m not here as an “expert” with all the answers. Instead, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can be heard and understood without judgement. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to life, and together we can explore the challenges you’re facing and find the path that feels right for you.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or simply lost on your path, know that you’re not alone. I understand the struggles of modern life because I’ve lived them myself. I’m here to walk alongside you and provide the support you need to navigate difficult times and discover a more fulfilling way of being.
